Venue

The workshop talks take place at Residència d'Investigadors, in the old town of central Barcelona, Spain. The school, held on the first day of the event (18 May) will be held in the nearby La Real Academia de Ciencies i Arts de Barcelona. Both locations can be found listed on major map applications.

School

La Reial Acadèmia de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona is a historically important building associated with an eponymous institute founded in 1764. The building is located directly on a major avenue in central barcelona (La Rambla de Barcelona, 115), easily accessible from e.g. the Placa Catalunya station, between a Carrefour supermarket and Hotel Royal.

The academy building itself is not explicitly marked on the street, save for a small plaque. Visitors should enter a performing arts theater ('Teatre Poliorama'), and take a left at the entrance as pictured below:

The school is held in a meeting room on the fourth floor, with Wi-Fi(*) and a large monitor. The room has space for up to 50 occupants. Coffee breaks will be organised in the same area or, weather permitting, on the adjacent balcony.

We regret to inform that the location is not very accessible, although there is a small elevator that can be used by those who might need it.

(*) we note that the wifi is not necessarily intended to be used by 50 people at the same time, and urge the participants to give preference to the lecturers' use when possible.

Workshop

Residència d'Investigadors is a meeting space and a research residence associated with the CSIC institute in Catalunya, and hosts scientists and scientific meetings from a number of fields. It is located on a narrower side street directly off La Rambla, a few hundred meters from the Liceu metro station (Carrer de l'Hospital, 64). It is on a street corner opposite to an Indian restaurant and a second-hand clothes store.

The main conference will be organised in one of the meeting rooms at the location, housing up to 100 participants (setting the participant limit for the event). An eduroam connection is set up for the Wi-Fi.

More explicit instructions with additional pictures will be posted at a later date.
